Peter S. Falvo Jr. (1942-2023) was a Shareholder Emeritus of Ansell.Law and the former Chair of the Firm’s Land Use & Zoning Law Department. His diverse practice included land use and development matters, commercial and residential real estate, and wills, trusts, and estate administration. He added depth and expertise to these departments and brought in many distinguished clients, many of whom we continue to serve.
In addition to being a skilled counselor, Peter was instrumental in the growth of our Land Use Department and was unofficially known as the “Dean of Land Use” in Central New Jersey. Throughout his career, he handled countless cases before zoning and planning boards and represented clients before various state agencies. Peter was also qualified as an expert witness on land use and contract interpretation by the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division.
Peter’s passion for giving back was evident through his service on the boards of many professional and charitable organizations. He was actively involved with the American Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Sections and the Monmouth Bar Association Probate Committee, among others. He also contributed vital leadership to the Meridian Hospital Corporation, Meridian Health Systems, and the Jersey Shore University Medical Center boards.
Peter was a loyal friend and colleague whose legal career spanned over 50 years. In the earlier years of his practice, he worked at Ansell Grimm & Aaron before launching his own successful law firm. Peter rejoined the Firm in 2001, making an immediate impact as a leader and mentor.
An essential part of our culture, Peter never failed to bring humor to every interaction. As a mentor to a generation of attorneys, his skills and influence will live on at the Firm for decades.
