Melanie Scroble is a partner in the Commercial Real Estate; Corporate, Finance & Banking; and Residential Real Estate departments. She is also a member of the Controlled Substances and Regulatory Law Department with a focus on retail leasing. Additionally, she has experience with corporate, land use, residential real estate and tenant/landlord matters.
Melanie represents clients nationwide in a variety of complex commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing and financing commercial properties nationwide, with an emphasis on shopping centers, retail pads, apartment buildings, 1031 exchange transactions, and commercial financing and banking, including conduit loans and defeasance transactions. She has extensive experience in all phases of transactions, from the letter-of-intent stage to due diligence to closing, with an emphasis on structuring complex transactional agreements concerning properties located throughout the country. Her clients range from a national REIT to first-time investors.
While attending law school, Melanie was a member of the Housing Clinic for the Center of Social Justice, assisting the pro bono representation of tenants in tenant–landlord disputes. Prior to joining Ansell Grimm & Aaron, she practiced as an associate with Jeffer, Hopkinson & Vogel in Passaic County and Ferro Labella & Zucker LLC in Bergen County.
Melanie has hosted several roundtable discussions at the annual ICSC+US Law Conference.
