Hoda Soliman

Partner

In the 25 years she served as a formidable and successful prosecutor, Hoda Soliman learned that criminal cases are as much about connection as they are confrontation. She understands that the desired result often hinges on which attorney can more effectively build credibility, elicit sympathy, or craft a compelling yet comprehensible narrative for juries and judges out of complex law and facts. Now providing robust defense representation in criminal and municipal proceedings, Hoda continues to leverage her talent for zealous yet empathetic advocacy to guide clients through the challenges of prosecution, forcefully protect their rights, and obtain the best possible outcome in each case.

Always prepared for every possible argument and counterargument and thriving in the courtroom, Hoda amassed an impressive record of convictions in a broad spectrum of criminal proceedings during the time she spent as an assistant prosecutor, first in Middlesex County, beginning in 2000, and then, since 2006, in Monmouth County. In her various roles over the years, Hoda handled all aspects of criminal cases, from arraignment through sentencing, and appeared before the New Jersey Superior Court in trials, motions, status conferences, and sentencing hearings. She also drafted trial and appellate briefs on criminal law issues. Collaborative and creative, she worked closely with law enforcement personnel to ensure strong and successful prosecutions. She also organized and implemented Monmouth County’s Crisis Intervention Team Program, focusing on coordinating efforts between law enforcement and mental health partners.

Hoda complemented her ability to command a courtroom with equally robust leadership in her office, supervising trial teams, the Family Division, and investigative divisions, including the Major Crimes Bureau, the Financial Crimes Bureau, the Special Victims Bureau, the High Tech Bureau, and the Narcotics and Organized Crime Bureau. Her background as an educator, including providing instruction at the Monmouth County Police Academy and serving as an adjunct professor teaching criminal justice at Brookdale Community College, dovetails with her advocacy and helps her to bring clarity to complexity in the courtroom.

The clients Hoda now represents and defends reap the benefits not only of the 360-degree insights and perspectives she gained as a prosecutor, but also the genuine respect and understanding she displays for them and the unwavering commitment she brings to protecting their rights, reputations, and future.
